Product Description

For the ultimate odor-sealing, stain-blocking protection on all types of interior surfaces, choose B-I-N® Advanced Synthetic Shellac Primer. B-I-N Advanced effectively blocks stains from water, nicotine, grease, oil, soot, rust, mildew, tannin, crayon and lipstick. It also provides an excellent odor barrier to block odors from fire damage, smoke, cigar & cigarettes, pet urine, and fireplaces.

B-I-N Advanced penetrates and seals porous surfaces and dries to a smooth finish with excellent enamel holdout. B-I-N Advanced can be used on all types of all bare or painted interior surfaces including wood, drywall, cured plaster, masonry, galvanized metal and PVC. It even adheres well to dense, glossy surfaces such as enamel paints and varnishes, paneling, laminates, glass and ceramic tile without the need for sanding or deglossing.

B-I-N Advanced may also be used under and over any latex or oil-based architectural paint, so it's perfect for external spot priming, too. When used on wood, this product seals knots, sap, and tannin.

This synthetic, shellac-based primer has a low odor and fast dry times, making it perfect for new construction, remodeling projects, and fire and water damage restoration jobs.

The bright white color of B-I-N Advanced hides stains and discolorations, making it a highly effective primer to improve coverage and sheen consistency of th finish coat. To improve the hiding power of the topcoat even further, you can also tint B-I-N Advanced to off-white and pastel shades by adding no more than 2 oz of universal colorant per gallon.

To block odors while preserving the original surface color, use B-I-N Clear Advanced.

Usage

Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free of dust, dirt, excessive chalky material, grime, grease, oil, wax, mildew, wallpaper, adhesive or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion. If unsure, wash surface with an appropriate cleaning solution or solvent and rinse thoroughly. Remove any peeling and/or unsound coatings. Sand any remaining paint film edges smooth. When priming over stained areas, first attempt to remove as much of the stain as possible by washing, sanding, scraping, etc. Allow surface to dry completely before priming.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-Approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
