Product Description

SCHÖNOX RR is a cement-based rapid-setting repair mortar suitable for use on all cement- and gypsum-based substrates. It is designed for rapid-drying patchment repairs in interior areas.

SCHÖNOX RR can be installed up to 2”. Users can layer thicknesses above 1/16” up to 3/8” without aggregates and up to 2” with aggregates.

This heavy-duty, fine-grained compound is extremely fast-drying, even in higher layer thicknesses. It produces a very smooth surface with high hardness and strength and low shrinkage.

SCHÖNOX RR is rated EMICODE® EC 1PLUS R for very low emissions. It is suitable for castor wheel loadings above 1/16“ according to DIN EN 12529.

SCHÖNOX RR is suitable for patching, filling, and leveling of:

  • Concrete, cement substrates

* All values are approximate, are subject to local climatic fluctuations based upon conditions at 70°F with atmosphere of less than 65% relative humidity following the recommended mixing ratio. Do not install underlayment or topping before the substrate has dried thoroughly.

Usage

Mixing Ratio:

Mix each 25 kg / 55 lb. bag with 5.5 liters / 5.8 quarts of water.

*If SCHÖNOX RR is extended with dry, clean aggregate (aggregate is added last) at a layer thickness of 3/8”–2”, type and amount of aggregate used will affect product performance. As qualities of locally available aggregates vary, we recommend performing tests prior to use on a larger scale. Do not overwater!

Recommended Working Method:

  1. Using a clean mixing bucket, add SCHÖNOX RR to cold, clean water to form a homogeneous mixture. Mix thoroughly for approx. 3 minutes using a heavy-duty drill (min. 600 RPM) is recommended to obtain a lump-free mix.
  2. Apply, smooth, and shape the leveling compound using a stainless steel smoother or a smoothing trowel.
  3. Do not mix more material than can be applied within 15 minutes.
  4. Protect curing SCHÖNOX RR layers from high ambient temperatures, direct sunlight, and draughts.
  5. Clean tools in water immediately
