Product Description
Got nasty olefin carpet?
Reach for Matrix Olefin TLC!
For those nasty commercial olefin glue-down carpets that have been abused and seldom cleaned, turn to Matrix Olefin TLC. This powerful formula is specially designed to loosen and suspend the oily soils that love to cling to olefin (polypropylene) fibers so you can easily flush them away. It treats yellowing and even removes filtration soil along carpet edges.
In addition to working wonders on olefin carpets, Matrix Olefin TLC can also be used to clean Berbers, making it handy product to have on hand.
We recommend rinsing carpet with Matrix All Fiber Rinse for best results. For treating yellowing on traffic lanes, we recommend boosting Olefin TLC with Matrix Oxidizer or Matrix Citrus Force ASD.
Plus, Matrix Olefin TLC has a pleasant and fresh lemon scent your customers will enjoy!

Usage
Olefin is an oil-loving fiber made from synthetic polypropylene. It is an inexpensive synthetic fiber type and is commonly found in commercial settings. Olefin does have some popularity due to its ability to resist staining. It is solution dyed, meaning the dye is consistent throughout the fiber, so there are no dye sites for other dyes to attack. For this reason, it cannot be dyed on-location.
Olefin is susceptible to heat and will melt in the presence of high heat. Due to its oil-loving properties, it attracts oil, which can “yellow out” the fiber. This yellowing is difficult, if not impossible, to remove.
Olefin is lighter than water, so the chemical test to see if a fiber is olefin is to put the fiber in a glass of water and see if it floats.
Recommendation:
- Vacuum the entire carpeted area.
- Using a pump-up sprayer, apply Matrix Olefin Traffic Lane Cleaner diluted at 4-6 oz per gallon of water depending on level of soiling.
- Using an extraction machine, extract with Matrix All Fiber Rinse diluted at 4-6 oz per gallon of water.
