Black Marks on Resilient Tile Finish
Black marks are caused by shoes scuffing on floors, but these marks usually only occur if the coating of the finish on the floor is too thin or worn, or if improper finish is applied for that particular flooring or area. If black marks start showing up on the floor, a scrub or stripping and recoating process becomes necessary.
Cause: Finish is worn away or coatings are too thin. Solution: Using a floor machine and a red pad, scrub the floor. Once scrubbed, apply more finish according to the manufacturer's label directions.
Cause: Wrong finish applied for the flooring or area flooring is in. Solution: Using Unitex Melt Down Stripper and a floor machine with a black pad, strip the area. Rinse with Unitex Daily Clean. Apply appropriate finish to floor.
Additional Solution: A tennis ball on the end of a stick will remove black marks on the floor.
Warning: Always test materials for colorfastness, follow label directions, and never mix products unless specified in the label directions. Each situation reacts differently and results may vary.
